“We believe the one who has the power. He is the one who gets to write the story. So when you study history, you must always ask yourself, Whose story am I missing? Whose voice was suppressed so that this voice could come forth? Once you have figured that out, you must find that story too. From there, you begin to get a clearer, yet still imperfect, picture.”

The question is who do we believe when it comes to what is happening in Gaza? I don’t rely on Hamas nor the government of Israel. I’ve read enough lies from the former and with the latter, I have watched spokespeople from the IDF flat out lie. I’ve said it before, the first casualty in war is the truth. Here is something that I’ve confirmed through multiple sources: ten children are confirmed to have died in Gaza from starvation. It’s likely that the number is far higher. All are attributable to the Israeli blockade that’s gone on since October 8. None of this should be news. We’ve heard reports of hunger and pending famine since the blockade started. The reality? Netanyahu and the IDF are using food as a weapon of war. This is a war on the Palestinian people in Gaza, not against Hamas. It is a war on the children in Gaza.
Denying food as a weapon of war is a crime against humanity. The airdrops that Biden started yesterday are just a drop in the bucket. They won’t come close to addressing the starvation of the Palestinian people. 39,000 meals were delivered. There are over 2 million people at risk in Gaza, about half of them children. How can any government, anywhere, claim moral authority when they are actively starving civilians? The acts of Hamas on October 7 were despicable. That says, nothing, NOTHING justifies what Bibi and the IDF are doing in response.
Stop the killing now.

People are indeed outraged at the actions of Netanyahu’s forces. His cabal is thoughtless and desperate to stay in power. He needs to be recalled. Israel is losing friends by the minute. Good column.
