Today I need to offer a “reader discretion” or whatever alert. Tomorrow I’m going to get into what happened to several people on October 7. There has been criticism, particularly of the UN, for not investigating the sexual violence that Hamas committed that day. Tomorrow I’ll share one person’s story. I hope that none of you need this kind of alert. Frankly, it happens too often. It let’s many avoid the reality of the world we are living. Yes, I get that a survivor of sexual violence may be re-traumatized when hearing someone else’s story and we do need to respect that. Yet the other side is that CNN and others didn’t show the videos of people being killed and their bodies desecrated that day. Media outlets hide the damage that is done to the bodies of the victims of mass killings. Assault weapons don’t kill with a neat, bright red hole like we see in movies. The bullets fracture, tear apart internal organs. This is one of the reasons that school shootings are particularly deadly. Far more damage is done by a single bullet to a smaller, compact body than would happen to a larger adult.
To confront the wrongs in our world we need to know them, recognize them, understand them. The world knew what the Nazis had planned and looked away. Hamas has made clear their intent: drive the Jews from Israel then hunt them down and kill them all. And Donald Trump is making clear what he will do if reelected.

If Trump is reelected he won’t come for me first. He’ll turn on the so called “liberal” media to shut them down so the stories can’t be told. My choice is not to be left to the end when no one is left to speak.
