Direct Action

I’m probably out of my job anyway, so why not?

My friend Jennifer Leto Revill is singing Christmas Eve with her church choir. Afterwards she and I are planning to eat the dinner she’s cooking, a seven fish, Italian celebration thing. I have to admit to having no religion, to being agnostic. I have no faith. But her fish meal and Christmas Ever reminds me of the thing where Christ fed a lot of people with his faith. It reminds me of the teach a man to fish and you show him how to feed his family. And it makes me wonder if perhaps we, I, should do a bit of protest, set up a tent, ask her to come and feed a few, and start a fight. I’m happy to spend a night in jail being arrested after a protest. It’s been a long time, but it won’t be my first night there.
