This is a word that most of us don’t know, that we need to both learn the meaning of and how to use it. From Wikipedia: “Misogynoir is a term referring to the combined force of anti-Black racism and misogyny directed towards black women.” It is a combination of two words: misogyny, the hatred of women and/or girls and noir, the French word for black.
The hatred, the misogynoir, shown toward Kamala Harris by Donald Trump, JD Vance, and the MAGA world make it clear why it’s prescient. We need to either stand against their hate or let our world be consumed and destroyed by it. I’ll be writing more soon about specific instances of Trump’s and Vance’s misogynoir and of their general disdain for and contempt of women, especially strong, independent women.
