Erez has been freed.
Yesterday three Jewish men who had been hostages were murdered. Not by Hamas, rather by the IDF. It’s not clear how they escaped. What seems to be clear is that they approached soldiers of the IDF and were carrying a white flag. The IDF opened fire on them, killing two instantly. The third was shot while running away, while trying to communicate with the soldiers shooting at him. He was speaking Hebrew. It’s hard to believe that the IDF cares about the Palestinian civilians being killed in Gaza when in this case they showed no regard for the lives of these three men. I’ve said it before when talking about the hostages: the only ones that matter are Jewish. None of these “kidnapped” posters had been about the people from Thailand and The Philippines who were kidnapped. It’s barely been mentioned that the first killed on October 7 were guest workers. So why bring this up? Because Israel is failing in the world of public opinion. It’s been clear for a long time that Bibi only cares about Bibi staying in power and will do anything, including his attempt to destroy democracy in Israel, to maintain his power. It’s becoming increasingly clear that neither Hamas nor the IDF care about how many Palestinian civilians are being killed. Some estimates put more than half the dead as children. Bibi has never cared. Sometime soon we need to talk about the killing he has endorsed on the West Bank. The killing needs to stop. All of it.
Never again is now. Hamas has committed to destroy Israel and the Jewish people. The question is what Bibi is trying to do. It seems more that his intent is not to destroy Hamas, but rather the Palestinian people.
