One can make a case that it’s a backward place, behind the times.  Or you can say it’s where things start.  The Montgomery bus boycott happened when Rosa Parks wouldn’t give up her seat.  Yeah, it may have been part of a plan.  Regardless, it was the key to the start of the civil rights movement.  And a while later, on the Pettis Bridge, we saw pictures, an action that changed what happened next.  Today in Alabama could be a fluke or it can be a start.
