OK, we are talking about Fox News where misinformation is their industry.  I love this quote:

“There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics.”

So Fox News takes one statistic, that apprehensions are down 40% at the Mexico border, to say that illegal crossings are down.  And all this somehow proves that Trump scared them into staying there.  Except one number doesn’t imply the other.  My first thought was how can they know that illegal crossings are down?  I’m pretty sure that no one is checking-in to provide a manner to count.  So apprehensions are down.  Perhaps crossings are as well.  Or maybe fewer people got caught.  My guess, considering that crossings to Canada from the US are up, is that the number of people coming in are down, but that’s just anecdotal.  In fake news facts don’t matter.  In my world they do.
