Apollo 13

In the age of COVID-19 we often can’t hear other important things.  Thank you to the BBC for the reminder that there are other things in this world.  It was 40 years ago that Apollo 13 had an oxygen tank explode on the way to the moon.  I’ve said for years that one of our greatest technical achievements wasn’t getting Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, and Micael Collins to the moon and back, it was getting James A. Lovell, Jr.. John L. Swigert, Jr.,  and Fred W. Haise, Jr. home alive.

We need to remember who we were.  If we don’t then we can’t create the new normal that will come.
