Walter Cronkite

There was a time that Walter Cronkite was called and considered the most trusted man in America.  I can’t say if non-whites felt this way, but a poll overall likely would have shown this to be true.  He was the man that most people heard tell them that JFK was dead.  For me he was the voice of growing up.  Each night my mom would watch the CBS Evening News.  For my generation he was the voice we listened to through the Apollo program and the flights to the moon.  Today?  I can’t think of anyone that I could call trusted like we trusted him.  In fact, I can’t think of a man or woman I’d put on a list to do a survey to see what people think.  We’ve fallen that far.
