I’m working on how to express my thoughts on the 20+ year old controversy where his statue was added to the mall of shame, the white supremacy gallery of “heroes” in Richmond.  It was a big thing.  Some said a black needed to be represented on monument alley.  Others claimed he was just a tennis player.  Add to it that he died if AIDS when that was a stigma.  So, your thoughts?
